Assistant Camp Director
This is a seasonal spring and summer position with the possibility of a fall extension.
The Assistant Camp Director (AD) plays a key role in delivering our educational school programs and summer camp operations at Camp Impeesa, located in Southern, AB. The AD will help supervise, plan, develop and facilitate programs and staff. This includes development, participation, implementation and running of staff training in conjunction with the Program Manager (PM). Over the summer, this position will be responsible for the day to day support and operation of the residential summer camp including planning, scheduling, program delivery, staff supervision and camper care.
This position requires a candidate who is creative, high energy, self-motivated and the ability to be take on a supportive camp leadership role. This position is provided with full room and board and a paid bi- weekly salary. Inquire with application.
This position has a possible extension into the month of September & October based on program needs. Candidates with the possibility of this extension availability will be considered first.
Qualifications:
- Must be 21+ years old
- Standard First Aid and CPR, minimum
- Provide a clear police record check with vulnerable sector check
- Comfortable working with youth of all ages
- Comfortable in a rustic type of accommodation including basic cabin and/or tent
- Good fitness ability
- Able to work full days of 8 hours + in all weather and conditions including weekends

Camp Counselor
This is a seasonal spring and summer position
The camp counselor delivers our residential summer camp, rental programs and educational school programs at Camp Impeesa. Candidates with a passion for the outdoors and interest in inspiring that passion in young people will be a good fit for this position. They will help deliver the schools and scouting program in the spring session then transition into our residential summer camp program. They will also plan and lead any out trip and backpacking trips into the backcountry with our summer program.
This position is the primary caregiver for our campers and requires staff to plan, teach, coordinate and carry out all camp activities and guide campers in their personal growth at camp. This includes all theme days and out trip days. Candidates must be comfortable in participating in and teaching outdoor pursuits activities including camping, hiking, backpacking, canoeing etc. He or she must have the ability to “wear many hats” and be flexible with the ever changing camp community.

Adventure Facilitator
This is a seasonal spring and summer position
The Adventure Facilitator is our specialist in delivering Impeesa’s key high adventure program activities. They are trained safety experts in the operation and facilitation of our climbing tower, bouldering wall, low ropes course, double zip line and high ropes elements. They serve to deliver programs to our summer camp sessions, rental member groups and non-member groups including schools and other organizations. They will also help deliver parts of the camp staff training in collaboration with the Assistant Program Coordinator.
As part of the AF’s other duties, when not assigned to a specific program activity, they will take on a specialty role in either camp property, summer camp resource or rental group resource. Time will be split between both aspects of the role.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with youth and adult groups in a positive and enthusiastic manner
- Summer camp experience serving 1 or more seasons at a camp an asset
- Certification or the willingness to obtain certification in all element program activities offered at Camp Impeesa, Level 1 minimum

CIT & Tripping Coordinator
This is a seasonal spring and summer position
The CIT & Tripping Coordinator plays a key role in delivering and supporting our Counselor in Training (CIT) and Backpacking program operations at Camp Impeesa, located in Southern, AB. The CIT Coordinator will help supervise, plan, develop and facilitate programs. This includes development, participation, implementation and running of the CIT leadership training. Over the summer, this position will be responsible for the day to day support and operation of the CIT and Backpacking programs including planning, scheduling, program delivery, gear & equipment care and inventory, trip food preparation and camper care. During the backpacking adventure sessions the coordinator will be the resource and safety support person accompanying campers into the backcountry. This will require route planning, wilderness navigation, health and safety, campsite selection and setup, leave no trace principle management and carrying a backpack while hiking for multiple days.

Lifeguard
This is a seasonal spring and summer position
The Lifeguard will supervise activities located at our lakeside swim area at Camp Impeesa. This includes swim periods, waterfront events and all other water sport activity. We are looking for someone with lifeguarding experience and a high level of maturity. Red Cross swimming lessons are sometimes offered throughout the summer and lifeguards with swimming instructor experience and certification will be considered and sought after first. Training in Canoeing and Stand Up Paddle Boarding will be provided to ensure our lifeguards are ready to teach these programs.
As part of the lifeguards other duties they will work closely with the camp ranger on the daily maintenance and up keep of the waterfront and other various locations around camp. They may be trained to will work with our program staff to help run other camp program areas including the archery range, tomahawks and summer camp.
Qualifications:
- Experience guarding and teaching swimming lessons an asset

- Current Standard First Aid & CPR certification, minimum
- Current Lifesaving NL certificate
- Completion or willingness to complete the Waterfront NL course

Dining Hall Steward
This is a seasonal spring and summer position
The Dining Hall Steward is responsible for assisting the camp cook with food preparation, clean up and washing of dishing from within the kitchen and the dining hall at Camp Impeesa. This position will also be responsible for the daily care and cleaning of the dining hall including sweeping, mopping, general cleaning, and re-stocking of supplies.

- 16 + years old

Assistant Cook
This is a seasonal summer position
The Assistant Cook will be supervised and work closely with the Camp Cook in the Impeesa commercial kitchen. They will assist in the daily preparation, cooking and serving of a number of meals and snacks each day. This position can expect a variety of food and meal preparation duties including baking, barbecuing, roasting, frying, knife work and equipment usage. Other duties can include receiving and sorting food delivery orders, cleaning, dishwashing and overseeing the dining hall steward.
Qualifications:
- Experience preparing, cooking and serving food to more than 20 + person, for youth and adults alike.
- Experience working in a fast paced, varied environment
- Provide a clear and clean police record check with vulnerable sector check prior to start date
- Current Standard First Aid & CPR certification, minimum
- Current Food Safe Handling Certificate
