Summer Camp

Scouts Canada members (Venturers, Scouts, and Cubs) and non-Scouts come together in one amazing location surrounded by the wilderness and mountains of Camp Impeesa. Siblings, relatives, and friends who may or may not be Scouting members and we encourage parents to share the Camp Impeesa experience with others.

Pika  (8 – 10 years old)
This is our first experiences at summer camp program and is perfect for those youth who have never been to summer camp before and so is a great introduction to residential summer camp. Once campers arrive at camp they are divided into patrols and jump right into creating their adventure for the week ahead.  A highlight for this group includes special themed activities, a night sleeping under the stars and a possible day trip to a local historic site. Following the Canadian Path our camp staff guide Pika campers in experiencing challenging and fun activities that include, but not limited to, hiking, climbing, zip-lining, swimming, canoeing, archery and arts & crafts.  All of our campers will come together during camp wide-games, all camp themes, and campfires.

Bighorn (11 – 14 years old)
Our Bighorn campers come together to create a community focused on adventure, challenge and wilderness living.   This group has the opportunity to develop teamwork, self-awareness and responsibility through activities that challenge the skills they already have. Bighorn campers take part in an overnight trip backpacking within the wilderness surrounding Camp Impeesa. They will have a chance to canoe to an offsite location to prepare a meal over a campfire and spend a day hiking to the summit of Table Mountain. Following the Canadian Path our camp staff guide Bighorn campers in experiencing challenging and fun activities that include and not limited to intermediate level climbing, swimming, canoeing, paddle boarding, zip lining, archery, tomahawks and survival.  All of our campers will come together during camp wide-games, all camp themes, and campfires.

Grizzly (14 – 17 years old)
Grizzly campers are our experienced summer camp residents. This group will focus on leadership, personal and group development, high adventure and challenge. Grizzlies will plan and lead a multiple night backpacking trip or combine a higher level day hike and horse day ride. As part of the leadership experience these campers will plan and lead an afternoon of special program for our Pika and/or Bighorn campers. Following the Canadian Path our camp staff guide Grizzly campers in experiencing challenging and fun activities that include and not limited to advanced climbing techniques, swimming, canoeing, paddle boarding, zip lining, archery, tomahawks and survival.  Grizzlies have the opportunity to request top-rope climbing or mountain biking (at an additional cost – weather and logistics dependent). All of our campers will come together during camp wide-games, all camp themes, and campfires.
